Would you like to get involved with a fantastic new community charity?

We are seeking a dedicated member for our board to support and realize our charity purpose of providing no cost relief childcare for families where a parent had been diagnosed with cancer. We are seeking someone who can think strategically and help us role out our projects with the ultimate goal of growing the charity. Previous experience an advantage but not necessary. We ask for no more than 3/4 hours per week.
 

Role Summary

Help to set, shape and deliver key objectives from the organisations strategic plans, alongside other Board members and the management team.
 

  • Uphold the values and objectives of the organisation;

  • Uphold the organisations core policies, including those for equality and diversity;

  • Contribute to and share responsibility for the board’s decisions;

  • Prepare for and attend meetings, training sessions and other events;

  • Represent the organisation as appropriate;

  • Declare any relevant interests;

  • Respect confidentially of information;

  • Uphold CCC Code of governance and Code of Conduct.

     

Person Specification
 

  • Purposeful and driven with evidence of great business acumen;

  • Keen interest in marketing and branding;

  • Willing to promote openness and accountability, always holding the organisations best interests to heart;

  • Able to operate at strategic level, and able to commit time consistently;

  • Experience in strategy, organisational development and steering organisations through a process of growth;

  • Experience of being part of a board or committee.
     

Commitment

Board members are required to attend weekly/biweekly evening meetings (currently conducted online), meeting clients and volunteer, where required, to offer guidance and support to the executive team and other board members on an ad hoc basis.
